Essential Duties
- Assist in the day-to-day management and coordination of facilities operations, including maintenance, skilled trades, and grounds teams, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with institutional priorities.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to facility staff by recruiting, training, coaching, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development, while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented, and accountable work environment.
- Coordinate, plan, and oversee a wide range of maintenance, repair, renovation, and capital improvement projects, including scope development, scheduling, quality control, and follow-up to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers by coordinating work activities, monitoring performance, verifying compliance with contract requirements, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of services delivered.
- Support departmental budgeting, cost analysis, and long-range project planning efforts by assisting with budget development, preparing cost estimates, tracking expenditures, and providing recommendations to optimize resources.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, inspection requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations by overseeing safety programs, reviewing inspection reports and certifications, and promoting safe work practices across all facilities operations.
- Assist in establishing operational priorities, work schedules, and preventive maintenance programs to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and extend the life of campus facilities and infrastructure.
- Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Director of Facility Management as needed, providing continuity of leadership and decision-making in the Director’s absence.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college

Minimum Qualifications
- Technical certifications/degree or equivalent experience in fields such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
- At least 5 years of facility operations experience, including 4 years of supervisory responsibility
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read construction documents and blueprints
- Experience with contracts and procurement (especially Arkansas regulations)
- Spanish language skills
- Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs
- Knowledge of campus and community resources
- Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs
- Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs
- Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
- Ability to compile information into report form
