What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director position at Northstar Preschools?
Regional Director – Northstar Preschools
Northstar is growing fast. We're building something special in early childhood education, and we're looking for Regional Directors who run tight operations, develop strong teams, and care deeply about what happens inside a classroom. This role will oversee our current Texas schools and some future sites as we expand.
The Regional Director role sits at the center of that. You'll oversee a portfolio of centers, develop and coach the directors who run them, and own the financial and operational performance of your region. This isn't a compliance role. It's a builder role.
What You'll Own
Your Directors — You're the person they call when something's hard. You coach them on leadership, hold them accountable on performance, and develop the kind of bench that lets the organization grow.
Financial Performance — You'll own the P&L for your region. That means understanding what's driving your numbers, identifying problems early, and working with directors to close the gap.
Enrollment & Occupancy — You keep centers full. You know what's working in the market, what isn't, and how to move the needle.
Operations & Compliance — Licensing, health and safety, facility standards — your centers run clean. You don't wait to be told.
Community & Relationships — You represent Northstar in your market. Parents, school partners, local organizations — you build the relationships that give our centers a reputation worth having.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years leading multiple sites in early childhood education — Regional Manager, Area Manager, or equivalent
- Real P&L experience, not just budget awareness
- Someone who develops people, not just manages them
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
- Deep familiarity with licensing and state compliance requirements
- Willingness to be present — evenings and weekends when it matters
