Substitute Teacher

Position:                    Substitute Teacher

Reports To:              Designated Principal 

Status:                       Part Time, Daily Rate

Requirements:

1.    A four-year degree is preferred with a concentration in education courses

2.    A four-year degree is required for substituting at the High School level

Teaching:

1.    The substitute teacher will be responsible for following the instructions in the assigned curriculum area.

2.    Employ those instructional aids, methods and material that will provide for creative teaching by teacher

3.    Insure that adequate preparations have been made to accomplish the objectives established in classes assigned from the lesson plans

4.    Maintain adequate record of attendance and grades in order for the teacher to have personal knowledge of student’s progress during the teacher’s absence

5.    Make homework assignments as directed by the teacher for drill, review, enrichment or project work sufficiently in advance of due date so that students will learn personal responsibility, self study, and so students will be sufficiently informed to handle the work at his grade level

6.    Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises

7.    Demonstrate in speech, actions and attitude a consistent walk with Jesus Christ as outlined in the Northside Christian School Doctrinal Statement of Faith and the Models of Truth document

8.    Be consistent in personal reading and studying of the Bible     

9.    Have an ongoing involved relationship in a local church

10.  Be available to be used by the Holy Spirit for the spiritual encouragement of students and fellow teachers and staff members

11.  Share personal faith with students

12. Demonstrate a positive spirit which searches for the best in students and colleagues
