Cert Surg Instr Tech

Role Overview: Responsible for the care, preparation, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in a sterile processing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminates, inspects, and assembles surgical instrumentation following departmental procedures.
• Operates sterilizers, ensures proper sterilization parameters, and completes quality control checks, including biological testing and documentation.
• Uses Censitrac system for tracking instrumentation, manages inventory levels, and restocks supplies.
• Maintains accurate records, reports discrepancies, and communicates effectively with team members and surgical staff.
• Supports department quality assurance initiatives and participates in meetings and training.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma with at least one year of central service experience.
• Certification from IAHCSMM or equivalent within six months of hire, maintained throughout employment.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in computer applications like Censitrac, Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and safety awareness skills.
