NorthRock’s internship program attracts top undergraduate students seeking meaningful exposure to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry. Over the course of 12 weeks, interns gain hands-on experience, contribute to impactful projects, and engage directly with leaders and professionals across the firm.

Due to the nature of internship responsibilities, this person must be located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, as this internship requires an in-office presence at our downtown Minneapolis office location.
About the Role
The Product Owner Intern supports NorthRock’s technology operations by helping enhance internal tools, document workflows, and connect business needs to technical solutions. This role provides hands-on experience in how digital products are designed, built, and refined to serve a modern, client-focused business.
What You Will Do
- Assist in feature enhancement and development discussions
- Facilitate requirements gathering and documentation with cross-functional stakeholders
- Map current business processes, workflows, and related technical systems
- Investigate and document system integrations, including upstream and downstream dependencies
- Draft and execute test cases, document findings, and collaborate on solutions
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team throughout the product lifecycle
What You Bring
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
- Junior or senior class standing preferred
- Prior internship or relevant project experience preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Curiosity about product development, system integrations, or business technology
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and collaborative working style
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a credit and criminal background check is required
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $20.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST). For more details on ESST, visit the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's website.
