Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Northland Controls is looking for a Testing & Commissioning Engineer in Cyberjaya, Malaysia!

The mission of the Testing & Commissioning Engineer is to support project delivery by ensuring all ELV and security systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards. This role partners closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure design compliance, quality execution, and successful client handover.

Responsibilities
The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will support project execution by:

• Reviewing layout plans, schematic diagrams, wiring drawings, and installation details for systems such as CCTV, PLC, traffic lights & barriers, network backbone, and radio systems

• Conducting site surveys to verify existing conditions and ensure design feasibility

• Updating and managing all project drawings, ensuring the latest revisions are distributed to the site team and stakeholders

• Drafting, compiling, and reviewing Design Submission Documents for client approval, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards

• Authoring detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments for installation, testing, and commissioning activities

• Developing Testing & Commissioning Procedures, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated Systems Tests (IST)

• Conducting FAT, SAT, and IST activities to ensure systems perform as required

• Recording and compiling all test results, inspection reports, and commissioning data into formal Test Reports for client submission

• Taking primary responsibility for drafting complete Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals

• Ensuring O&M manuals are clear, comprehensive, and meet formatting and content requirements

• Assisting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards

• Providing site supervision and coordination throughout installation and commissioning phases

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Engineering

• Knowledge and experience handling ELV and Security System Equipment

• Minimum 3–5 years of project engineering or commissioning experience, preferably in commercial and data center environments

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Skills

• Strong technical understanding of ELV and security systems

• Excellent documentation and reporting skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia
