The CAD Engineer is a key member of the Design team, supporting Regional Design Engineers in delivering high-quality security system designs that meet both client standards and Northland Control Systems’ design requirements.
This role is responsible for creating detailed design packages under the guidance of Design Engineers, including floor plans, equipment layouts, device elevations, riser diagrams, and point-to-point wiring diagrams.
The CAD Engineer works closely with Regional and Design Engineers across a global design center that supports AMER, APAC, and EMEA regions, operating in a 24/7 three-shift model aligned to regional time zones. The ultimate objective is to produce comprehensive and accurate security designs that form the foundation of project scope and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and complete design packages, including:
- Floor plans
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Single-line diagrams
- Elevations and device details
- Ensure all designs comply with client security standards and Northland drawing standards
- Proactively communicate with Regional Design Engineers regarding design requirements, clarifications, and any issues impacting deliverables
- Perform self-review (QA/QC) of all design work prior to submission
- Manage assigned workload to meet design logs and project deadlines
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication throughout all stages of a design request
- Keep design logs, client portfolios, and SharePoint sites up to date and organized
- Accurately complete timesheets, ensuring time is allocated correctly to live projects
Qualifications
- Experience working on design and coordination across multi-region/global teams
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) – 2018 or later

- This role does not have direct reports

Work Environment
- Primarily office-based in Bangalore
- Flexible working arrangements may be considered at management discretion
Working Hours
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) operating on a monthly rotating shift schedule:
- Shift 1: 08:30 – 17:30
- Shift 2: 14:30 – 23:30
- Shift 3: 21:30 – 06:30
Travel
- Occasional travel required (up to 20%) for training and project support
Work Authorization
- Must be legally authorized to work in India
