Job Summary

Successfully meets the needs of patients and families by delivering excellent patient care, performing diagnostic Radiology and CT procedures in a compassionate and safe manner and in accordance with established practices. Contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment while operating radiographic equipment, including whole body CT scanners. Processes quality images, maintains adequate records, assists providers and follows standard radiation and safety procedures.

This is a temporary position expected to last no longer than 12 weeks. There is no guarantee of permanent employment; however, the position may have the opportunity to become permanent in the future based on organizational needs.

CT training provided for qualified candidates!

Applicants must be ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologists (R) eligible for Minnesota registration and able to complete CT competencies and obtain ARRT (CT) certification within the required timeframe. Cross-training opportunities in CT, Interventional Cardiology (IC), Surgery, and other modalities are available after hire.

Compensation

We are committed to providing compensation information for all open positions. The wage range for this position is $39.48–$55.73 per hour. Compensation is determined based on experience, education, and internal equity considerations. This reflects the base pay for the role.

A starting wage floor of $43.19 per hour is currently in effect for this position. This rate reflects our current compensation practices and may be adjusted in the future in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver excellent patient care by demonstrating compassion, thoroughly explaining procedures to patients, providing patient comfort, answering patient questions and completing exams in a timely manner
  • Prepare patients for Imaging exams by reviewing provider orders and notes, confirming correct exam to be performed, accurately assessing patient’s needs, positioning patient appropriately for exam and providing patient education.
  • Perform quality exams by operating applicable Imaging equipment competently including data acquisition, image manipulation and reconstruction, and quality control measures to ensure optimal quality diagnostic images and monitoring patient throughout the exam.
  • Maintain accurate patient records by completing correct and timely entries in all electronic health systems (i.e. HIS/RIS, PHA, PACS) and department specific programs.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work in a calm manner. Anticipates work to be done and seeks to assist others, maximizing productivity in both patient care and non-patient care departmental tasks.
  • Stay current in the field by enhancing personal professional skills and knowledge through CEUs, self-study, research and dialogue, ensuring competency in all assigned exams and ability to easily float to assigned areas. Orient and train new employees and students.

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT (R) - ARRT registration in Radiology ARRT (CT) – ARRT registration in CT or completed NH C CT Competency verification
  • Must be enrolled in NH C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
  • Complete required de-escalation and crisis prevention training upon hire and on an annual basis, including adherence to NH C reporting standards, preparedness protocols, and response procedures.
  • Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARRT(R)(CT) – ARRT Registration in Radiology and CT and minimum two years experience

Schedule

  • 64 hours per two-week pay period (0.8 FTE)
  • Shift hours include: Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Mid Shift: 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.; Evening Shift: 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.; Night Shift: 11:15 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.
  • This position must be available to work all shifts and includes a rotating schedule of every 4th weekend and holidays
