What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Electrician and 3rd Year+ Apprentices position at Northern Spark Electric?
Northern Spark Electric is a small but growing family-owned company based in Maple City, MI where our employees are encouraged to find their niche within the trade. We currently provide service primarily within Leelanau county doing new construction, remodels, troubleshooting/services calls, generators, and small commercial jobs, but do expand into surrounding counties as well with aims to branch fully into all commercial and industrial work. This is a full-time position with overtime available, but not mandatory. Hours are typically Monday-Friday 8-4 but can be fluid based on the job schedule. A work truck, power tools, and business card are available once proven. Employees receive 1 week PTO as well as Holiday Pay, health/vision/dental benefits, and IRA with up to 3% matching.
Requirements:
Report on a timely basis and work in a safe manner
Record hours and materials on job reports daily
Maintain electrical equipment, keep work vehicles and shop tidy
Capable of reading and interpreting electrical prints/diagrams
Be able to plan and request proper parts/materials for assigned jobs
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair wiring and lighting systems
Proficiency in bending and installing conduit
Communicate clearly and effectively with all team members
Ability to work independently and alone on jobs as well as with others
General knowledge and ability to use NEC Codebook
Must provide your own hand tools
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to climb ladders, bend, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, crawl and walk/work on your feet all day in various sometimes harsh weather conditions
