About Us
Northern Spark Electric is a growing electrical company working on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to join our team and contribute to our continued expansion. The intention is that with continued workload this position will be split into 2 positions and you could choose which you prefer to continue working.
Position Overview
The Electrical Estimator / Project Manager will take ownership of estimating and managing awarded projects from bid request to project completion. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, cost analysis skills, vendor relations, and the ability to coordinate effectively with GCs, clients, and field crews.
Responsibilities
Estimating
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate estimates.
- Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantify labor requirements.
- Solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing; evaluate proposals.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals on schedule.
- Maintain accurate cost databases and update pricing as needed.
Project Management
- Plan, schedule, and manage electrical projects from award through closeout.
- Create budgets, track costs, and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Coordinate procurement, material deliveries, and subcontractors.
- Communicate with clients, GCs, and internal teams to ensure project expectations are met.
- Develop and maintain project documentation: RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, etc.
- Conduct jobsite visits to review progress, safety, and quality.
- Resolve issues promptly and proactively.
- Manage project closeouts including commissioning, punch lists, and O&M documentation.
Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License
- 1 years of estimator or project manager experience in the electrical industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC standards, and construction practices.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, etc.) and PDF takeoff tools (Bluebeam).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to visit project sites as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
