REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Responsible for assuring appropriate insurance verification and benefits, prior approvals and all authorization requirements are obtained prior to patient’s appointment. Responsible for accurately updating patient benefit information and verify that existing information is correct. Is a valuable resource to patients providing them with
pertinent information regarding coverage amounts provided by their insurance policy. Pre-registration phone calls are made to discuss patient financial responsibility. Position requires accuracy and attention to detail, flexibility, excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to follow specific procedures without deviation. Should have knowledge of medical procedures and terminology, insurances and use of Meditech, Outlook, and other systems as well as demonstrates learning new processes and systems quickly. Keeps abreast of all new policies and procedures as they change.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office and Greenway as well as Internet
- Types 59 correct words per minute for Alpha. 125 for numeric
- High School diploma/GED
- Previous experience in the medical field
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Meditech Expanse and Registration Systems proficiency
- Excellent communication skill - previous customer service and complaint resolution
- Ability to work at advanced level in all types of computer systems including Internet
- Medical environment exposure
- Medical Terminology Course
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
- Insurance billing and/or other accounting experience
- Associate Degree in Business
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in same/related field
- Experience with insurance carriers or a third-party administrator
