Position Title: Residential Experience Specialist

Department: Housing & Residence Life

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt = overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $42,000-$45,000

Travel: No travel

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Serve as a key professional resource within Housing and Residence Life by providing guidance on housing policies, contracts, billing, and operational processes while supporting students, families, and campus partners. Address complex concerns, coordinate communication and housing operations, support major residential transitions and housing cycles, and contribute to initiatives that enhance service quality and the overall residential experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

Required Minimum Work Experience: a) One year of professional experience in housing and residence life, higher education student affairs, or a related higher education administrative setting; and an additional
b) One year of experience working directly with the public in a customer service-focused role that involved addressing concerns, providing guidance and resources, and resolving issues in a professional manner.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively navigate sensitive or challenging situations involving students, families, and campus stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound professional judgment, and appropriately manage sensitive student information and complex situations.
Strong organizational, critical thinking and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, balance competing demands, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and responsiveness.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Experience using housing management systems such as StarRez or THD.
Experience with financial or purchasing systems such as Concur.
Experience in communications, marketing, recruitment, or public relations.
Experience working within a Public Private Partnership (P3) environment involving contractual partnerships, shared operational responsibilities, and coordination between organizations.
Experience supporting college admissions, new student/transfer orientation, housing operations, or student services initiatives within higher education.
