Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS system.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Upsell menu items such as specialty cocktails, wines, or desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on food, spirits, wine pairings, and beverage options based on guest preferences.
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling and preparation stages.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns professionally and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is required; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through strong time management skills.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques.
- Experience with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for processing transactions and handling cash or credit payments.
- Previous experience in roles such as host/hostess or bussing can be advantageous but not mandatory.
