Summary:

The Clinical Director, under the supervision of the Senior Physician Executive (SPE), is an independently licensed, experienced Clinician who oversees the delivery of Clinician-based services, programming and activities on all units and provision of patient support provided by the psychiatric technician staff within the inpatient service areas. They ensure active treatments and patient engagement provided by the Program and Activities Coordinators and Psychiatric Technicians are relevant, efficacious and consistently provided 7 days per week. The Clinical Director has in-depth experience in psychiatry and leadership. They are adept at negotiating conflicts, collaborating with all disciplines and applying self-reflection to their practice. The Clinical Director is responsible for the delivery of care, facilitating change and mentoring/developing Clinical staff. They are responsible for working with the SPE and Director of Quality to maintain quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborates with the Senior Physician Executive, Quality Director, Medical Directors, and clinical managers to uphold regulatory and quality standards, promote safe patient care, and manage staff concerns/issues.
  • Ensures Clinician services documentation content and practice reflects high-quality patient care and adherence to federal and state licensing standards.
  • Ensure Clinician services are aligned with Acadia Hospital’s clinical philosophies, evidence-based and outcome-informed.
  • Actively participates in the evaluation and status of census and community needs.
  • Maintains ongoing and real time communication with local leadership inclusive of daily report, huddles, and staff meetings.
  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition and Human Resource teams to devise retention and recruitment strategies for inpatient staff and new hires.
  • Participates in and develops the Plan of Correction response to inspection surveys and implements follow-up required for Clinicians and Clinical Associates.
  • Networks with peers and community agencies, institutional, local, state, regional, and national level to promote personal, professional, and organization goals.
  • Completes direct report evaluations with goals reflective of employee/department needs.
  • Responsible for the development of leaders through Clinical Supervision, Supervision, education, role modeling and mentoring.
  • Participates in hospital performance improvement functions: Analyzes Employee Engagement surveys and supports the department with implementation of process improvement.
  • Plans, analyzes PI and Quality data and collaborating with unit leadership.
  • Supports the direction and vision of the administration and assists in the implementation of change that facilitates continued fiscal responsibility and promotes optimal patient care.

  • 4 years working as an Independently Licensed Clinician.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years working as a supervisor of clinical staff.
