TEN Dishwasher

The Northern Hotel is looking for a Full Time Dishwasher/Steward for our fine dining establishment, TEN, which is located on site. This position will work up to 32-40 hours a week, availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings, with the possibility of working holidays.

The Dishwasher operates the dishwashing machine, and is responsible for keeping the machine in clean condition. The Dishwasher will pre-wash dishes and pre-scrub pots and pans before putting them through the dishwashing system. He/she then makes sure the dishes come out clean once through the system. Additional duties include taking out the garbage, cleaning out the drains of the sink and filters in the dishwashing machine, and mopping the floor near the dishwashing area.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Set up workstations before meal prep begins
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor

Skills

• Work experience as a Dishwasher or on Wait Staff
• Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules
• Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings
• High school diploma is a plus

Pay: $14.00 per hour
