Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, high energy and dedicated cook to join our team, bringing enthusiasm and culinary expertise to our food service operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in preparing nutritious and appealing meals, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional service to our community. Your culinary skills, combined with your experience in dietary and food handling procedures, will help create a warm and welcoming environment for all. You must be able to work two to four 7 hour shifts a week and work additional hours as needed.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of child friendly meals
• Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in accordance with health regulations
• Support dietary department operations by assisting with meal assembly, portioning, and serving to children
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to uphold food safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service during meal times

Experience

• Prior experience working in dietary or food service environments
• Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
• Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices
• Experience with meal preparation for diverse dietary requirements is highly desirable
• Proven skills in kitchen operations including knife handling, food presentation, and getting the meals out in a timely manner
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 35.0 per week
