Qualifications:
To qualify for the position of Security Specialist, at GS-0080-12, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience: Possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level obtained in either the private or public sector and defined as follows. Specialized experience includes performing 3 out of the 4 following types of duties:
- Advising management on all aspects of physical security and emergency preparedness;
- Developing, implementing, and administering contingency and emergency preparedness planning efforts;
- Developing procedures to assess the compliance of security programs with established national, Department, and headquarters policies and procedures, and evaluating the effectiveness of physical, communications, personnel, information and computer security programs;
- Planning and overseeing the installation and maintenance of all physical security systems, equipment, and building modifications.

Responsibilities:
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for planning, directing and administering a comprehensive district-wide security program. Typical work assignments will include:- Serving as the district expert and principal point-of-contact for all physical security matters.
- Coordinating, planning, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of all physical security and systems, equipment, and building modification necessary to ensure adequate security is maintained.
- Participating in contingency and emergency preparedness planning efforts to enable the district to continue essential operations and discharge responsibilities during and following various types of emergency situations.
- Serving as the Communication Security (COMSEC) Representative responsible for the proper receipt, accounting, and safeguarding of COMSEC material.
- Providing clearance level information of USAO personnel and to other government agencies as needed.
Salary : $97,307
