What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN Wound Care - Full Time position at NORTHEASTERN HEALTH SYSTEM?
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Performs basic nursing procedures including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings, perennial care, and urine tests.
Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration and pulse.
Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.
Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.
Maintains patient documentation.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.
Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning.
Monitors and restocks supplies.
Orients, instructs, and trains assigned personnel.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education - Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
Minimum Experience - Sufficient previous clinical experience
Required Course(s)/Training - Completion of accredited program for LPN
Req. Certification/Registration - Current Oklahoma LPN; BLS certification
Preferred Experience - 1-3 years clinical experience
