What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake & Assessment Specialist - Acute Recovery Svcs. position at NORTHEAST TREATMENT CENTER?
SUMMARY:
The Assessment Specialist conducts the initial clinical evaluations and assessments to determine the appropriate level of care and makes recommendations and referrals for treatment based on procedures defined by State, County, Community Behavioral Heath, and program requirements. This position works closely with internal and external clinical team members to ensure the completion of all required client documentation and successful transition to the designated level of care
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Within the confines of the offices of the Division and Agency. Travel to other Agency sites as well as to outside meetings, conferences, or workshops may be required on an as needed basis.
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday. Hours and days subject to change based upon program need and supervisor approval
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· A Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college or university with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency which includes 1 year of working directly with the chemically dependent and/or dually-diagnosed clients.
· Must meet full qualifications as an addictions counselor according to Department of Drug and Alcohol Program regulations.
· One year of direct care experience in mental health or addictions
· Intake background highly preferred.
· Experience with psychiatric emergencies
· Intake and assessment background highly preferred
