Position Summary
We’re looking for a results-driven field leader with deep experience in steel construction and site coordination. The ideal candidate can read and interpret complex drawings, direct multiple crews with confidence, and proactively solve problems to keep projects moving efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily field operations to ensure construction activities align with project plans, codes, and specifications.
- Lead, supervise, and communicate effectively with construction crews to achieve project goals safely and efficiently.
- Review project drawings and specifications to verify compliance and ensure accurate execution in the field.
- Plan and manage multiple tasks, schedules, and resource allocations to maintain workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Proactively identify, assess, and resolve on-site challenges or conflicts to minimize delays and control costs.
- Perform accurate layout and measurement of steel connections, verifying proper fit and identifying potential interferences before installation.
- Maintain detailed field documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and quality control records.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and alignment across all project stages.
- Enforce site safety standards and quality assurance protocols in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- 5 years of field work in the construction industry
- A strong understanding of project codes/specifications and the construction processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in order to lead and direct various crews to achieve the project goals
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and resources efficiently
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site challenges to prevent delays and costs
- Ability to layout and measure steel connections and identify interferences
