The Asset Protection Manager plays a critical role in protecting company assets through proactive investigations, shrink reduction strategies, and strong partnerships with store leadership across a defined group of stores. This role balances investigative work, in-store presence, and collaboration to reduce risk, address organized retail crime (ORC), and support safe store operations.
The ideal candidate brings a background in asset protection, loss prevention, or investigations, enjoys working independently within a territory, and is comfortable partnering with store teams and law enforcement when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Asset Protection activities for approximately 5–8 stores within an assigned territory
- Partner closely with store management to identify risks and address shrink concerns in a timely manner
- Conduct internal theft and fraud investigations, including interviews and evidence collection, while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Monitor stores for Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity and escalate findings as appropriate
- Apprehend shoplifters and complete required documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Represent the company in interactions with law enforcement and court proceedings related to external theft cases
- Monitor and enforce shrink reduction controls, including front-end operations and receiving practices
- Support store teams with inventory counts and follow-up on identified losses
- Ensure physical security standards are consistently followed at the store level
- Assist with Asset Protection planning and execution for new store openings within the assigned area
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of supermarket, retail, or comparable experience in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or investigations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing priorities across multiple locations
- Valid driver’s license required
