Position Summary The Commercial Laborer supports precast and concrete construction operations on commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for preparing forms, placing and finishing concrete, and assisting with all stages of production to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient project execution. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Formwork & Site Preparation
- Prepare, set, and inspect concrete forms/molds for proper depth, alignment, and structural integrity
- Measure and verify dimensions using reference points and layout guidelines
- Assist with subgrade preparation and form alignment
- Prepare, tie, and install rebar according to project requirements
- Ensure proper placement of inserts, embeds, and structural components
- Place, spread, and level concrete using hand tools and power equipment
- Smooth and finish surfaces using floats, trowels, screeds, and power tools
- Remove surface imperfections prior to final set
- Apply curing compounds or protective coatings
- Ensure finished surfaces meet specifications for texture, durability, and appearance
- Maintain attention to detail and quality standards throughout production
- Operate hand tools and basic equipment (hammer, utility knife, vibrators, mixers, etc.)
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow and production stages
- Follow supervisor instructions and adapt to changing project needs
- Previous construction or concrete experience preferred (1–3 years a plus)
- Ability to read and follow instructions, drawings, or blueprints (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of concrete work, form setting, or finishing techniques (preferred)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more
- Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods
- Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments in all weather conditions
- Typical start time between 3:00 AM – 6:00 AM depending on project
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
- Work performed in construction and precast manufacturing environments
- Exposure to dust, noise, heavy materials, and varying weather conditions
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Proper use of PPE (steel/composite toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) is required
