Part-Time Bookkeeper

Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a busy orthopedic healthcare organization. This role is primarily focused on high-volume, day-to-day financial data entry and transaction processing, while also assisting with general bookkeeping functions across multiple entities, including a Professional Limited Liability Company (PLLC), Management Services Organization (MSO), and 1099 independent contractors.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable handling repetitive financial tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter and maintain high volumes of financial transactions in the accounting system
- Input and code vendor invoices, payments, and expense data
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation
- Assist with categorizing transactions across PLLC and MSO entities
- Review entries for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Support intercompany transaction tracking between entities
- Support year-end processes, including 1099 preparation
- Coordinate with external accountants or auditors by providing requested documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a healthcare or medical practice setting
- Familiarity with multi-entity structures (PLLC/MSO)
- Experience supporting 1099 contractor tracking or reporting
- Exposure to accounts payable or payroll processes
