What You’ll Do

As a Residential Support Specialist, you’ll provide direct care and support to individuals in group homes and community environments. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting individuals in daily living tasks such as laundry, meal prep, and grocery shopping
• Providing transportation in agency-owned vehicles
• Assisting with medication distribution and documentation
• Facilitating individual and small group activities based on treatment plans
• Participating in team meetings and person-centered planning
• Maintaining accurate records, including progress notes and incident reports
• Creating a safe, welcoming, and consistent living environment
• Practicing gentle teaching and trauma-informed care

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities and mental health issues is helpful
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Lived experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use is valued
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Team-oriented mindset and a heart for service
