What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Dump Truck Driver position at Northcore USA LLC?
About the Role
We're a heavy civil construction contractor looking for an experienced Class A CDL driver to haul materials on and between our job sites. You'll run a mix of equipment — on-highway tandems, transfer/super dumps, and occasionally other configurations depending on the job.
This is a local, home-every-night position working out of our Albany location.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate Class A dump trucks — including tandems, transfers, and super dumps — hauling aggregate, asphalt, dirt, and other construction materials.
- Work on active construction sites alongside equipment operators, laborers, and foremen.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete daily DVIRs.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and hours of service records in compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading, tarping loads, and basic equipment maintenance.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, foremen, and other drivers via radio.
- Follow all site-specific safety plans, traffic control plans, and company safety policies.
- Keep your truck clean, fueled, and mechanically sound; report any issues promptly.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Minimum 3 years of recent dump truck experience (tandem and/or transfer).
- Ability to work on active heavy civil construction sites safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with load limits, axle weights, and Oregon road regulations.
- Reliable, on-time, and able to handle early start times (typical start between 5:00–6:00 AM).
- Must pass pre-employment and random DOT drug/alcohol testing.
Preferred
- Experience hauling on ODOT or other public works projects.
- Experience running belly dumps, end dumps, or pups.
- Flagger and/or OSHA 10 certification.
- Basic equipment operation experience (loader, skid steer) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Competitive hourly rate DOE, with prevailing wage rates paid on all applicable public works projects (BOLI/Davis-Bacon)
