What are the responsibilities and job description for the Theatre Director position at NORTHBROOK PARK DISTRICT?
This position is responsible for the overall practical and creative interpretation of a text, taking into account the budgetary and physical constraints of production. Theatre Directors work closely with the creative and production teams, actors, performers, and producers to create a performance that connects with the audience. Theatre Directors must be able to coordinate effectively across a wide range of disciplines, while keeping a clear artistic vision. Demonstrates commitment to the District's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles.
Pay & Schedule:
$25.00 - $29.00 Per Hour
This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
This position will run from June 8 - July 3, Monday - Friday.
Camp is from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, and the Music Director can estimate working approximately 25 hours a week.
Tech week is June 29 - July 3 and the Music Director will work closer to 40 hours that week, and need to attend both performances on July 2 and 3 at 7:00 PM.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises the overall creative approach to production
- Attends auditions and casts the production
- Attends all rehearsals, scheduled shows, and allocates time for additional performances as appropriate
- Support additional performance needs as necessary, such as front-of-house and backstage duties
- Plans the rehearsals for areas of responsibility
- Interprets the script
- Guides actors in their work during the production
- Attends production meetings to coordinate efforts with other members of the production team.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Collaboration with designers and the stage manager
- Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.
- Follows safe work practices.

Qualifications:Degree from a four-year college or university in Theatre, Music, or Dance, or a similar field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the above knowledge, ability and skills.
