At NorthBay Health, the Manager of Strategy and Business Development will provide support to the development of growth and business planning activities for key initiatives at NorthBay Health. The incumbent will facilitate cross-functional teams and committees, that include executive leadership and other technical leaders for multiple divisions across the organization, in strategic business case development and planning alongside clinical/business owners. He/she will coordinate market research, internal capabilities assessments, financial modeling, business planning, and progress monitoring. The business development professional must be highly organized, able to deal with ambiguity and time pressures and have advanced knowledge of business development principles, practices, and systems. This role will support and participate in NorthBay’s strategy and growth teams, to assist in the achievement of strategic goals. Through their advanced business development knowledge, this position will work closely with department leadership to manage the formulation of strategies that will require advanced knowledge of medical specialties, delivery systems, and medical center.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, statistics, business, finance, economics, market research, or related field required with five years of experience in corporate strategy development or Masters in Healthcare area.

Hours of Work: Exempt. Based on business need.
Compensation: Annual Salary range $100k - 110k based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
Incentive Bonus eligible, up to 15% of the annualized salary

1 . Strategic Plan Management
- Development and Implementation: Supports and facilitates the development of NorthBay Health’s strategic plan(s).
- Tracking and Reporting: Regularly track progress on strategic initiatives and provide detailed reports to leadership on performance metrics and milestones.
- Provide recommendations to operational leadership on tracking progress of strategic initiatives .
- Support in the development of detailed reports and/or scorecards on performance metrics and milestones of strategic initiatives
- Data Analysis: Analyzes data related to strategic objectives, identifying trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Project Management
- Coordinate Projects: Oversee and coordinate multiple strategic projects simultaneously, ensuring they align with NorthBay Health’s broader objectives.
- Timeline and Budget Management: Develop project timelines, manage budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic initiatives.
- Business Development
- Opportunity Assessment: Evaluate new business opportunities and assess their alignment with the hospital’s strategic goals.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends and inform business development strategies.
- Partnership Development: Support the development of strategic partnerships that enhance the hospital system’s market position and service offerings.
- Communication and Presentation
- Presentations to Senior Leaders: Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, clearly communicating progress, challenges, and strategic insights.
- Reporting: Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and dashboards that effectively communicate complex information to various audiences.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate communication across departments to ensure a cohesive approach to strategy implementation.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration
- Mentorship: Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support on strategic planning and project management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team and other departments to ensure that strategic initiatives are well-integrated across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously improve strategic processes and methodologies within the hospital system.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Four 4 years of progressive leadership experience in business development or completion of NorthBay Health Administrative Fellowship program.
- Proven track record of planning, executing, and closing projects successfully, including the management of scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Experience in developing and implementing business strategies and plans that align with organizational goals.
- Healthcare industry knowledge, as exemplified by working knowledge of DRG's and ICD-10 codes, service lines, and specialty medicine required.
- Demonstrates healthcare experience, with emphasis on business analytics and market assessment skills.
- Proficiency in creating financial models and conducting in-depth business analysis to support decision-making.
- Experience in conducting market research to inform business strategies and identify growth opportunities.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking, critical thinking, decision modeling and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates ability to tell compelling stories using data and data visualization techniques.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand broad strategic issues and apply analytics to deliver recommendations.
- Demonstrates project development, facilitation and leadership, both with peers and senior level health system leaders.
- Ability to lead and motivate project teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration towards project goals.
- Skilled in resolving conflicts and negotiating solutions to keep projects on track.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant software tools. Proficiency with dashboard reporting software and data query tools (Tableau, Business Objects, and/or SQL) is desirable but extensive expert level experience is not required.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to produce examples of written reports.
- Demonstrates ability to prepare and present high level presentations. Must be able to produce examples of presentations and related support materials.
- In-depth knowledge of business development concepts, best practices, and functions to achieve measurable results in a diverse stakeholder landscape balancing competing and conflicting interests.
- Advanced negotiating skills including analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to assess complex issues and develop solutions.
- Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills to lead and work collaboratively and effectively with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in developing business plans working across a wide range of care delivery environments with the ability to build consensus and conducting other business development activities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
