Summary
The Senior Operations Analyst leverages data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth for the organization. The position is responsible for independent analysis of complex datasets, development of advanced analytical models, and providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the organization which will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, optimization of processes, and identifying new opportunities by working with management to prioritize business and information needs and developing and implementing categorical folders, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies which will optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities
- Develops and validates reporting which encompasses all processes and areas of NTTA department(s) for the executive team, Board of Directors, department management, external stakeholders and the general public.
- Collaborates with all NTTA departments within the operations organization to propose and define requirements for requested reports or analysis and perform data extraction, analysis and interpretation of same.
- Independently identifies opportunities for improvement, accumulates related data and provides recommendations across a broad set of business processes.
- Coordinates with departments to establish performance report components for both department and management level reporting, define data sources and maintain complex production and ad-hoc reports using various data tools.
- Regularly meets with department owners to ensure reporting and compliance objectives are met and proactively ensure business processes and systemic changes are fully comprehended in future reporting.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts on analytical techniques, best practices, data-base knowledge and tools. Contribute to the growth and development of the data analytics team through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Identifies, analyzes, develops, and implements processes and departmental reports.
- Utilizes information systems to track and analyze statistical data, and report on operational performance to determine trends for future performance improvement initiatives.
- Creates and sustains processes, tools, and on-going support structures which enable re-use and efficiency; ensuring proper controls and quality work products; and assures timely and accurate results.
- Guides and establish data integrity and usability processes for created reports.
- Provides functional support by providing technical assistance and training to staff and management on specific applications, such as data query tolls (SQL, SAS, Python, costing tools, etc.)
- Identifies training and development needs within a department(s) [e.g. CSC, IT, HR, etc.] and provides instruction on accessing and running existing reports, interpretation of report results and selection of reports to address specific user requests.
- Manages projects/tasks involving multiple requirements, intermediate milestones, multiple lines of the business, etc.
- Conducts multiple parallel analyses on different data sets and the ability to identify basic data needs given a stated request/question from a business group.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Engineering, Information Technology or Economics or related field of study.
- At least 6 years related experience including SQL programming.
- Experience creating and developing comprehensive reports and data models, conducting complex data analysis, auditing, design development, data mining, segmentation techniques, researching and resolving problems.
- Experience working with near-real-time data.
- Master’s degree.
- 3-5 years’ tolling experience.
- Up to 10 years of directly related experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel using pivot tables, formulas, importing data, charts, v-lookups, etc. Proficient in other MS Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
- Advanced competency in accessing data from department specific EDW application [e.g., Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake] with advanced capability in programming (SAS, Python, R, etc.) to convey complex information in an easily understandable manner.
- Ability to translate operational processes into mathematical Excel/Python/AI models which incorporate logical arguments. Models which represent existing processes and/or provide predictive modeling capabilities with “What If” functionality.
- Experience with standard approaches to root cause analysis.
