Position’s Role Summary:

 

North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA), based in Dallas is responsible for developing a collaborative system of care for children, adolescents and adults with severe mental illness and other serious emotional disturbances, as well as those experiencing a substance use disorder. This position’s actions and work must align with NTBHA values and goals, regulations, and policies and procedures, and meet all documentation standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Travel is required as part of this role’s duties. Travel can vary from 20% to 100% per day. This would include all counties within NTBHA Catchment area (Dallas, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro & Rockwall Counties).

 

This role may be required to use a fleet vehicle and/or a personal vehicle for business needs. This may include, but not limited to field & home visits, offsite meetings, co-located sites and/or pick up items for business needs, etc. If your program requires transport of individuals, this would only be allowed with a company vehicle and approval from management.

 

This position is classified as exempt and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet organizational needs, including adjusting work hours as necessary to ensure job responsibilities are completed.

Job duties, responsibilities, and skills:

 

  • The position requires excellent organizational and clinical skills to provide consultation and oversight of the MST Therapists. This position is responsible for maintaining data in MSTI and SharePoint to meet the requirements of the grant and to complete any report by deadlines given. 

  • MST Program Manager will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day functions of MST Therapists. The MST Program Manager will be responsible for going over monthly staff self-evaluations and giving personalized feedback. 

  • The role of the MST Program Manager is to train and educate the MST Therapists on the essential skills for their positions, monitor their performance, and provide first-line consultation on the execution of their work. 

  • MST Program Manager will actively participate in clinical case supervision staffing to determine best treatment for recovery. Work involves consultation recommendations for the MST Team with the assistance of the MST Expert Consultant.  Recommendations for treatment and follow up community-based services, including medical, social, educational, financial, and other appropriate supports that are consistent with the individual’s recovery goals as needed.

  • This position may provide individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, skills training, case management, and case monitoring as a back-up to the MST Therapists. Targeting identified family & individual risk and needs relative to reducing recidivism, hospitalization and/or homelessness will be central.

  • MST Program Manager regularly reviews MST Therapists schedules as well as client documentation to evaluate and provide instruction as to quality of work, timeliness of work, training needed, and giving clinical supervision feedback to MST Therapists.

  • MST Program Manager will help screen for program referrals and maintain waitlist for program and complete weekly check-ins for those on the waitlist. MST Program Manager will assist with MST interviews as needed.

  • MST Program Manager will assist with outreach and help with scheduling event coverage as needed. MST Program Manager will collaborate and work effectively with internal and external departments, such as QMHP/Care Coordinator, law enforcement, juvenile probation, local ISDs, state and local hospitals, and community agencies and organizations. MST Program Manager will assist the MST Director with implementation of the MST program by making sure the MST Therapists are meeting fidelity to the MST Model and Addressing any Clinical and Administrative barriers with the team. 

  • MST Program Manager will carry clinical and administrative supervisory responsibilities for 1-2 MST teams of 2-4 therapists each. MST Program Manager will conduct weekly group supervision and training for MST team to assure adherence to MST principles and the MST analytic process, and to assure clinician competency in implementation of interventions. MST Program Manager will conduct individual supervision as needed to target clinician competency needs and to remove individual barriers to effective implementation of MST treatment. MST Program Manager will ensure availability of clinical and administrative support to clinicians 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

  • MST Program Manager will collaborate with stakeholders, both external in the community and within the provider agency. 

  • MST Program Manager will generate and manage case referrals and manage clinician caseloads. 

  • Manage and report data on clinical outcomes and program practices. MST Program Manager at times can have a caseload of 1-2 families, as required to address program needs. 

  • Must be able to work on and have knowledge of a PC (personal computer).

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software.

  • Duties and projects may be assigned or changed to meet business needs.

 

Qualifications required:

 

  • Master of Arts or Master of Science (MA or MS).

  • Must be licensed as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT and in good standing with the state of Texas.

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Must have familiarity with DSHS rules and guidelines with respect to eligibility screening and availability or DSHD-funded substance use disorder treatment services.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and automobile liability insurance, with a good driving record.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in outpatient mental health working with individuals having severe persistent mental illness and substance use disorders that includes crisis services. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth and families is preferred.

  • Knowledge of issues related to the program area.

  • Foster teamwork and provide leadership with good communication skills and positivity. 

  • Knowledge and training in Family Systems/Systemic Therapy is a plus. Knowledge in SUD and MH treatments. Knowledge and training in social ecological theory and application, CBT, and Behavioral therapies. Experience in case conceptualization. 

  • Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make decisions which are timely and in the best interest of NTBHA.

  • Assess problem situations, identify causes, generate possible solutions, make recommendations, and resolve the problem.

  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and other guidelines of HSC/DSHS, Knowledge of DSM 5 Criteria.

  • Create, analyze, prepare, and maintain records, files, documents, reports, and correspondence.

  • Knowledge of the various community resources and providers within the NTBHA service area including (but not limited to) supportive housing and employment, shelters, food banks, social service agencies, charities, medical and behavioral health providers, and other resources for the indigent population.

  • Work autonomously and make decisions consistent with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively and use effective interpersonal skills to communicate ideas and complex concepts with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds through oral and written communication.

  • Constructively and efficiently work with other professionals and staff, community representatives, persons with disabilities, and family members.

  • Foster strong, positive, and effective working relationships with inter-agency and intra-agency team members, encouraging and supporting interaction among various team members across organizational lines.

Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
