Job Overview
North Star Lodge is seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining building systems, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Your expertise in facilities maintenance will be vital in supporting the hotel's daily functions and long-term operational excellence.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct carpentry, painting, and other facilities maintenance tasks to uphold the hotel’s aesthetic standards.
- Manage plumbing repairs including system maintenance and leak repairs to prevent disruptions.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors when necessary, providing guidance on safety procedures and technical tasks.
- Respond promptly to guest or staff maintenance requests with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within hospitality, manufacturing, or residential environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, schematics, Ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices.
- Experieince in HVAC system repair and building interior maintenance including plumbing system repairs.
- Ability to perform carpentry (including painting), electrical work, and plumbing tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
- Supervising experience is preferred to lead maintenance projects effectively.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
