Position Summary
North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in an outpatient imaging environment. The ideal candidate will prioritize patient safety, education, comfort, and excellent image quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Verify patient identity, review orders, and obtain relevant medical history.
- Explain procedures, answer questions, and help reduce patient anxiety.
- Properly position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Evaluate images for quality and completeness before concluding each examination.
- Accurately document patient care and examination details in the RIS/PACS.
- Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and emergency-response policies.
- Perform required equipment quality-control checks and report malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain current professional and technical knowledge.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and professional standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, coworkers, and referring offices to support efficient patient care.
- Assist with other related duties as needed.
