Mental Health Technician - $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare is actively recruiting compassionate Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our Acute and Residential units! This entry-level role offers valuable experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic behavioral health environment.

About the Role:

Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and behavioral support to children and adolescent clients (ages 7–17) under the guidance of physicians and treatment teams. You will supervise clients, ensure safety, respond to crises, document behaviors, assist in programming, and promote positive interactions. Technicians receive training to work across both Residential and Acute care settings.

Schedule:

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts (days 7:00am–3:30pm, evenings 3:00pm–11:30pm, nights 11:00pm–7:30am) is essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement individualized treatment plans and complete required documentation timely.
• Ensure safe care delivery, manage behaviors consistent with the Behavioral Management Program.
• Support a therapeutic milieu by reinforcing positive behaviors and choices.
• Collaborate with teachers and participate in unit meetings and trainings.
• Follow scheduled program activities and adhere to safety procedures.
• Serve as a positive role model for residents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience working with children/adolescents in psychiatric or behavioral health settings strongly preferred.
• Experience with emotionally disturbed, mentally impaired, or physically disabled populations preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
