North Sound Law Group, PLLC | Estate Planning Paralegal
North Sound Law Group is a law firm located in downtown Bellingham. With three attorneys and six staff members, we focus our practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and business succession planning.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented estate planning paralegal to join our team. This is a full time, on-site role. The ideal candidate will work closely with our attorneys to support estate planning matters. Responsibilities include:
● Draft estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments) for attorney review, following attorney instructions.
● Communicate with clients regarding the status of their matters, document requests and changes, and appointment scheduling.
● Attend and assist at will signings and other document execution appointments.
● Manage and organize electronic client files in accordance with firm standards.
● Assist with billing and invoicing.
● Maintain confidentiality of client information.
● Excellent client service, a high level of professionalism, and the ability to work sensitively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances are essential in this role.
Qualifications and Skills
● Two or more years of experience as a paralegal or in a legal administrative role, preferably in estate planning or a related practice area
● Paralegal diploma or certification and/or a bachelor’s degree are a plus but not required.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
● Excellent written and verbal communication.
● Strong organizational and time-management skills.
● Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
● Attention to detail and accuracy.
● Team player.
● Experience with legal case management software is a plus.
● Already a notary, or eligible to become one.
The compensation for this role is dependent on experience ($30-40/hour). We offer benefits including health insurance, 401(k) match, paid sick leave and vacation.
