What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Specialist Trainee - Point Lay position at North Slope Borough?
To gain skills, knowledge and experience necessary to routine maintenance on facilities and grounds performing a variety of unskilled and occasionally semi-skilled tasks, that include assisting with carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs; may use tools and motorized or related equipment.The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Perform to the physical and safety standard requirements of the position
Learn to safely and effectively operate a variety of tools and equipment such as power tools and other departmental equipment to assist with basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and/or other repairs and maintenance.
Within NSB Health Facilities and NSB Itinerate Quarters, respect clients and/or tenants by recognizing their rights and maintaining confidentiality, including HIPPA requirements.
May be required to work a non-traditional work schedule to include evening, holidays, and weekends and may be subject to 24 hour on-call status.
Perform janitorial duties on the grounds and in the facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.High school Graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and work-related experience;
Documentation that the individual is free from active pulmonary tuberculosis;
