Summary or Purpose
To gain skills, knowledge and experience necessary to routine maintenance on facilities and grounds performing a variety of unskilled and occasionally semi-skilled tasks, that include assisting with carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs; may use tools and motorized or related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform to the physical and safety standard requirements of the position
Learn to safely and effectively operate a variety of tools and equipment such as power tools and other departmental equipment to assist with basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and/or other repairs and maintenance.
Within NSB Health Facilities and NSB Itinerate Quarters, respect clients and/or tenants by recognizing their rights and maintaining confidentiality, including HIPPA requirements.
May be required to work a non-traditional work schedule to include evening, holidays, and weekends and may be subject to 24 hour on-call status.
Perform janitorial duties on the grounds and in the facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required
High school Graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and work-related experience;
Documentation that the individual is free from active pulmonary tuberculosis;
