Authorization Specialist (in-person)

Summary:

This in-person position requires medical insurance knowledge and experience in the process of obtaining insurance authorizations for treatment through various websites and portals. Candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, a team player, and willing to take direction but able to also work independently. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of providing advanced pain management solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical coding and insurance verification processes.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
• Experience with EPIC Practice Management System (preferred)
• Experience with Pain Management or a specialist practice is a plus!
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients, medical providers and insurance representatives.

Duties Include:

• Reviewing EPIC WorkQs for ordered procedures and then utilizing various insurance portals and websites to submit requests for authorizations.
• Submitting appeals for denied authorization requests and processes to obtain extensions or other changes to those authorizations.
• Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and coverage options
• Must keep up to date with changing insurance guidelines for our procedures.

Job Type: Permanent – In-Person – Full Time – Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm

Pay Range: $20-$25hr per hour, depending on experience

Please note- our office will be moving from Beverly to Danvers in August.

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• EPIC medial record system: 1 year (Preferred)
• Pain management: 1 year (Preferred)
• CPT and ICD-10 coding: 2 years (Required)
• Insurance verification: 1 year (Required)
