About the Role:
As the Unit Manager, you’ll lead clinical care on your unit while supporting and developing a team of dedicated nursing staff. You'll collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest quality of patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance and serving as a key liaison for residents and families.
You’ll also oversee one of our specialty care programs:
- Wound Care Unit Manager
- Infection Control Unit Manager
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee day-to-day nursing care on your unit
- Supervise, support, and mentor clinical staff
- Lead clinical rounds and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate in care planning and quality improvement initiatives
- Step into leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing
- Part of on call rotation
If Wound Care Focused:
- Assess, treat, and manage a range of wounds (e.g., pressure ulcers, surgical wounds)
- Develop evidence-based wound care plans and educate patients/families
- Document care accurately and monitor healing progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care
If Infection Control Focused:
- Conduct infection surveillance and staff training
- Investigate exposure incidents and implement follow-up actions
- Ensure compliance with all infection prevention protocols
- Lead policy updates and coordinate with local health authorities as needed
