Position Title: Student Services Liaison
Reports To: Special Education Director
Position Purpose
The Student Services Liaison provides leadership and oversight for student support systems to ensure all students have equitable access to academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and specialized services. This role coordinates programs including social work , special education processes, 504 plans, student assistance teams, and related services in alignment with Nebraska Department of Education regulations. 200 day hourly contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support staff with compliance, documentation, and best practices
- Provide training and guidance to staff
- Coordinate services for students with social-emotional or mental health needs
- Partner with counselors, psychologists, and outside agencies
- Assist in crisis response and threat assessment processes
- Liason with NPPD and SRO's
- Ensure compliance with Nebraska Department of Education rules and regulations
- Maintain accurate student records and required documentation
- Monitor timelines, audits, and reporting requirements
- Provide training to staff on student services processes and legal requirements
- Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies
- Facilitate communication regarding student needs and services
- Support families in navigating school-based services
- Support district initiatives related to equity, attendance, and student success Work in collaboration with Boys Town Support Services
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- BA degree
- Master’s degree preferred in education, school psychology, counseling, or related field
- Valid Nebraska teaching or administrative certificate (preferred)
- Endorsement in special education, school counseling, or educational leadership preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years in education (special education, counseling, or administration preferred
