Job Details
Position Title: Student Services Liaison Reports To: Special Education Director Position Purpose
The Student Services Liaison provides leadership and oversight for student support systems to ensure all students have equitable access to academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and specialized services. This role coordinates programs including social work, special education processes, 504 plans, student assistance teams, and related services in alignment with Nebraska Department of Education regulations. 200 day hourly contract.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support staff with compliance, documentation, and best practices
- Provide training and guidance to staff
- Coordinate services for students with social-emotional or mental health needs
- Partner with counselors, psychologists, and outside agencies
- Assist in crisis response and threat assessment processes
- Liason with NPPD and SRO's
- Ensure compliance with Nebraska Department of Education rules and regulations
- Maintain accurate student records and required documentation
- Monitor timelines, audits, and reporting requirements
- Provide training to staff on student services processes and legal requirements
- Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies
- Facilitate communication regarding student needs and services
- Support families in navigating school-based services
- Support district initiatives related to equity, attendance, and student success
- Work in collaboration with Boys Town Support Services
Education and Certification
- BA degree
- Master’s degree preferred in education, school psychology, counseling, or related field
- Valid Nebraska teaching or administrative certificate (preferred)
- Endorsement in special education, school counseling, or educational leadership preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years in education (special education, counseling, or administration preferred
