Title: Technology Support Specialist - Technology & AV

Reports To: Coordinator of Educational Technology

Takes Direction From: Coordinator of Educational Technology and Director of Technology, and Coordinator of Communications Media

Schedule/Calendar: 7.5 hrs./day 37.5 hrs/week 261 days/year

Summary: The Technology Support Specialist for Technology and A/V provides technology and A/V skill training, training material development, and support of district-wide technology and audio-visual implementations for students, administrators, and staff.

Essential Functions

• Provides technology and A/V skills training for staff on all district technology devices.
• Installs, configures, troubleshoots, upgrades, maintains, and repairs audio/visual equipment at all district locations (e.g., lamp replacements, firmware upgrades, I/O plates, orientation, and diagnostics).
• Ensures all systems are maintained and comply with current safety and building regulations (e.g., cable paths, electrical systems, preventive maintenance filters).
• Works with the Desktop & Device Specialist on device and/or software installations in the building.
• Collaborates with the Ed Tech Learning coach to create training materials that support best practices in technology integration.
• Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves hardware, software, and operating system problems and questions that occur during daily use.
• Logs and follows up on all open or pending service requests for the buildings to ensure they are resolved.
• Provides support for staff members in the use of technology, a/v tools, and website design and maintenance as identified by the district (including Interactive Panels & Displays, Google Education Suite, Microsoft products, and other educational technology tools.
• Demonstrates hardware and operating system functionality to staff.
• Communicates with building administrators regarding Technology and A/V needs, evaluates requests, and develops recommendations based on best practices.
• Supports media, sound, and lighting needs for events in NPSD, including, but not limited to, community use of facilities, school use of auditoriums, multipurpose rooms, and cafeterias.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Educational Technology and the Coordinator of Communications Media.
  
  

Education And/or Certification Required

• High School Diploma or GED
  
  

Experience Needed

• 3-5 years of Technology and A/V training and troubleshooting experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Customer service experience.
  
  

Knowledge (of)

• Basic technology, A/V, and networking concepts.
• Google Suite Tools and other educational technology tools.
