Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Properly handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy loads of dishware or supplies safely and efficiently.
- Operate kitchen equipment like dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning machinery in accordance with safety protocols.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station promptly.
- Follow all food safety management practices to ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards.
Experience
- Previous food service experience or restaurant background preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food handling and sanitation procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers or cleaning machinery is a plus.
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards ensures a safe working environment for all team members.
- Prior catering or banquet experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key.
- Strong teamwork skills developed through hospitality or hotel experience help foster a positive work atmosphere.
