What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Job Coach/Teaching Assistant position at North Montco Technical Career Center?
North Montco Technical Career Center is seeking a full-time, 10 month Special Education Job Coach/Teaching Assistant to support student learning and provide training and support for successful transition to work. The candidate will support students securing job placements, analyze and modify job tasks, provide employability skills instruction, conduct student observations and assessments, and work
collaboratively with teachers and worksite employees. The candidate may be required to drive students in an NMTCC vehicle.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in the services sector.
- PA Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record and ability to provide own transportation.
- Experience working with secondary students with special needs preferred.
- Strength and agility to assist students with physical disabilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Support student learning in the school and worksite.
- Communicate students’ progress, strengths, weaknesses, and needs for worksite transition.
- Provide direct instruction and modeling of job-specific and employability skills.
- Coach students on program-specific skills and on-the-job skills to enhance readiness for employment.
- Transport students to community worksites.

- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)
- School Employee Health Form (Physical and TB test)
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form(s) (Act 168)
