Specialized Trades Worker/Maintenance Worker
The North Mississippi State Hospital is searching for a Contractual Specialized Trades Worker/Maintenance Worker for the Tupelo, Mississippi location in Lee County, requiring some local driving. This is a Part-Time Position. The Specialized Trades Worker/Maintenance Worker will be responsible for overseeing grounds upkeep, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs to buildings. Successful candidate will posses experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and basic Carpentry. The incumbent will support the mission of NMSH to provide the highest quality acute psychiatric care for Northeast Mississippi adults in the process of recovery.
Essential Functions:
This is entry level work in facilities maintenance. Work involves performing general maintenance and repairs within a state-operated institution, construction and repair of state buildings or equipment. Incumbents’ work is overseen by a Physical Plant Director.
- Ensures building grounds are well maintained.
- Ability to complete electrical, heat and air, carpentry and plumbing functions.
- Maintains all components of building are operating properly.
- May be required to transport patients to and from appointments
- Salary: $15.00 per Hour.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in at least one of the following fields: plumbing, carpentry, electronic, electrical works, plastering, painting, air conditioning/refrigeration, heating equipment, lawn care or general maintenance and repair.
AND
Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma);
