**JOB SUMMARY**
The Cyber Security Engineer at NMHS is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems that protect the organization’s digital infrastructure. This role requires advanced expertise in network security, threat detection, incident response, and secure system architecture. The engineer must demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, work independently with minimal supervision, and quickly adapt to emerging technologies. **JOB** **FUNCTIONS** * Design and implement secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation strategies. * Architect secure network and system configurations, including segmentation, DMZs, and zero-trust models. * Implement and manage security controls in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IAM, encryption, and logging. * Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks. * Ability to design secure systems and networks aligned with business and technical requirements. * Automate security operations using scripting languages and orchestration tools. * Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps). * Ensure compliance with security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques. * Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for security policies, procedures, and incident reports. * Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning from a cybersecurity perspective. * Collaborate with teams to promote secure coding practices. * Support training initiatives for staff on cybersecurity best practices. * Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, and procedures. * Generate reports for stakeholders and compliance purposes.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, or a related technical field. Required * Associate's Degree willing to consider an Assoc degree in lieu of Bachelor degree with 4 add'l years of experience beyond the minimum in Computer Science or a related techinical field.. Required * High School Diploma or GED Equivalent willing to consider an HS Diploma in lieu of Bachelor degree with 8 add'l years of experience beyond the minimum in Computer Science or a related techinical field.. Required * Master's Degree Computer Science or a related techinical field.. Preferred

**Work Experience**
