| JOB SUMMARY |
| The Assistant Nursing Home Administrator at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for facilitating effective and efficient function of the Nursing Home. This includes assisting the Nursing Home Administrator in oversight of the facility and its functions both clinical and administrative while understanding the laws, regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration. This role collaborates with the Nursing Home Administrator and the Director of Nursing utilizing strong communication and organizational skills to drive optimal nursing department function while promoting practices that maintain high morale and staff retention. |
• Attend meetings, conferences and workshops with the Administrator.
• Participate on task groups, work groups, and other events with company-wide impact.
• Develop special projects that add value to the worksite and defend project processes and outcomes.
• Complete in writing all required special projects and maintain related reports, updates or documents.
• Evaluate work weekly with the Administrator to identify progress and upcoming assignments.
• Complete and submit Monthly Reports for each month.
• Understand and utilize the laws, regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• VDU oversight of: Respiratory Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing
• Lead Environment of Care (EOC) rounds with staff each month
• Serve as the facility Emergency Operations Plan Coordinator
• Assists Administrator in managing facility operations. May assist in setting priorities and job assignments.
• Assists Administrator in State Survey readiness and Plan of Correction (POC) follow up.
• Assists Administrator in Mississippi Department of Health reportable submissions/investigations for the facility.
• Maintains a working knowledge and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and NMHS Quality Assurance standards.
• Supports and assists Administrator in monitoring employee relations and ensuring compliance with employment laws and NMHS policies. Assists Administrator in promoting practices that maintain high morale and staff retention.
• Develops positive relationships on behalf of the facility with government regulators, residents, families, and the community.
• Supports the Administrator in addressing family satisfaction issues immediately and assists in resolving the matter in a professional manner.
• Assists Administrator in ensuring the building and grounds are properly maintained. Assists in ensuring equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and orderly. Ensures any hazardous conditions are addressed; ensures universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire safety, and sanitation practices are followed.
• Attend and/or conduct facility meetings, as required, to carry out responsibilities
• Operational oversight of the Vent Dependent Unit for Baldwyn Nursing Facility
• Contribute to the strategic plan of the facility and service line.
• Be ready to fill a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) position temporarily or fulltime within the service line.
