This role engages strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate, monitor, and document purchase orders and inventory records, ensure effective maintenance and function of all equipment, and communicate and/or escalate all needs to support efficient operational management and adherence to policy and procedure.
Inventory/Stocking
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Orders and maintains inventory for Supply Processing Department (S.P.D.).
- Monitors and manages the storage area.
- Maintains stock with vendors.
- Recommends inventory stock level changes and deletions.
- Prepares orders and ships products and equipment as needed. Recordkeeping/Clerical:
- Reports shortages and damages to vendor.
- Conducts yearly inventory.
- Enters all items into appropriate data base/computer program. Goods Received/Delivered:
- Receives, issues, and delivers all materials, supplies and equipment in a timely and accurate manner. Maintenance:
- Performs minor maintenance and trouble shooting on equipment.
- Keeps area clean and orderly.
- Takes responsibility for delivery and pick-up of CSP carts (dirty & clean). Regulatory:
- Completes annual requirements for NMHS Guidelines.
- Assists in developing, implementing, maintaining, and recommending departmental processes. Customer Services:
- Assists departments as needed.
- Provides a high level of quality to customers. Education:
- Ensures that educational requirements are met each year. Regulation:
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or equivalent. Required
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
- 1-3 years. Minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Logistics and Inventory Control in a Healthcare setting. Preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Critical thinking and analytical skills; required
- Excellent written and verbal communication required
- Must have working knowledge of a computer, calculator, and telephone
- Must interact with a patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion
- Must assume responsibility for receiving and distributing goods in a accurate and timely manner
- Must update and maintain inventory records
- Must interact daily with Staff from each Facility, vendors, truck drivers, and manufacturer representatives
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must reflect a positive, caring attitude at all times
- Must demonstrate a professional behaviour in interactions with all internal and external customers
- Must exhibit behaviour’s that compliment a positive image of the organization during pick-up and delivery of supplies
