Job Description:
The North Middlesex School District is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead the high school girls basketball program. The Head Coach will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, from varsity through sub-varsity levels, focusing on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.
The ideal candidate will be an educator-coach who fosters growth on and off the court, preparing student-athletes for success both athletically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership: Develop a comprehensive program philosophy and culture aligned with North Middlesex Athletics’ mission. Lead varsity, JV, and freshman programs in a cohesive manner.
Player Development: Plan and execute practices to develop skills, conditioning, basketball IQ, and leadership qualities. Mentor student-athletes on resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Game Preparation: Create strategies, manage lineups, substitutions, and in-game adjustments. Oversee scouting, film review, and opponent analysis.
Team Culture & Mentorship: Build a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment. Emphasize ethical behavior, accountability, and pride in representing North Middlesex.
Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with assistant coaches, Athletic Director, parents, and school staff. Maintain transparent communication regarding athlete progress, schedules, and program updates.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to MIAA, NFHS, and district policies including concussion management, injury prevention, and emergency protocols.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school or collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the varsity level.
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
Leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
MIAA and NFHS required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Concussion Training, CORI/SORI background checks).
Preferred:
Collegiate playing experience.
Previous head coaching experience.
Experience running youth or feeder programs.
Salary:
Per North Middlesex Regional School District Coach Stipend Schedule.
Salary : $5,989 - $6,825
