Job Title: Freshman/JV2 Girls Volleyball Coach School: North Middlesex Regional High School Location: 19 Main St, Townsend, MA 01469 Job Type: Fall 2025 Season Job Description: North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Freshman/JV2 Girls Volleyball Coach to help develop the next generation of volleyball players and support the growth of the volleyball program. The coach will focus on coaching the freshman and junior varsity 2 (JV2) teams, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment for student-athletes while promoting both athletic and personal growth. This role offers the opportunity to work with younger players and help them transition into the high school level, preparing them for future varsity competition. Key Responsibilities: Coaching & Skill Development: Plan and execute practices focusing on volleyball fundamentals, including passing, setting, serving, hitting, and defense. Help develop individual skills and improve team play through targeted drills and exercises. Provide instruction and feedback to players to ensure continued growth and confidence, with a focus on basic skills development and team dynamics. Focus on building player confidence, fostering a love for the game, and preparing them for future team levels. Team Management & Culture: Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment where players feel valued and motivated to improve. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership, ensuring that players not only grow athletically but also as individuals. Assist in maintaining clear expectations for player conduct, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the court. Game Day Support & Preparation: Assist in preparing the team for games, including pre-game warm-ups, team strategy, and player rotations. Support athletes during games with real-time feedback and adjustments. Ensure athletes are mentally and physically prepared for competition and that they perform to the best of their abilities. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate regularly with athletes, the head coach, and parents regarding team progress, practice schedules, game day logistics, and expectations. Collaborate with the head coach to ensure consistent coaching methods and strategies across teams. Keep the athletic department and school staff informed about team needs, performance, and any issues that arise. Safety & Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to all district policies and MIAA guidelines, prioritizing safety and injury prevention during practices and games. Follow concussion management protocols and other safety guidelines as set forth by the school and MIAA. Ensure athletes meet MIAA eligibility requirements and maintain academic standards. Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest volleyball coaching techniques, trends, and strategies by attending relevant clinics and workshops. Continuously evaluate and improve coaching methods to ensure the best experience for athletes. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Previous coaching experience or strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and team dynamics. Ability to work with athletes of varying skill levels and provide individualized attention to promote growth. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to balance academic and athletic priorities for student-athletes. Must meet all district and MIAA coaching requirements, including Concussion Training (NFHS or CDC-approved), First Aid & CPR Certification, and CORI/SORI Background Check. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or a related field. Previous experience playing volleyball at the high school or collegiate level. Previous coaching experience at the high school or middle school level. Ability to motivate and develop athletes in a positive, supportive manner. Salary: Per NMRSD Coach Stipend Schedule.
