What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Principal - PreK-4 position at North Middlesex Regional School District?
This posting is for a PreK-4 Assistant Principal split between 2 schools. Anticipated 3 days at Spaulding Memorial (grd 2-4) and 2 days at Squannacook Early Childhood Center (PreK-1). Duties to include, but not limited to the following:
-Progressive discipline
-Supervision and evaluation of staff in conjunction with the principal
-Educational Leadership role in conjunction with the principal and teacher leaders, curriculum coordinators and district leadership
-Chair Instructional Student Support Team
-Support district and school initiatives to include social emotional learning, Intervention block, data analysis, attendance practices and curriculum needs.
-Arrange for daily substitute coverage for all staff
-Collaborate and communicate with the principal on an on-going basis
- MCAS Coordinator
Requirements:
-Experience with Collaborative Problem Solving and Growth Mindset or willingness to learn
-Experience with Massachusetts DESE evaluation rubrics and procedure
-Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and families in both oral and written form
-Experience chairing meetings that include staff and families
-Dedicated to elementary school student and staff needs
-Problem Solving abilities
-Willingness to be flexible with role assignments, changes as needed throughout a day to address the highest priority actions
-Familiarity with safety procedures such as ALICE (or similar)
-Restraint trained (or willingness to be restraint trained)
-Ability to collaborate with the principal, counselors, staff and district leadership team
