CABINET – ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF Administrative Services 

 

 

1. Missouri certification in Superintendent Administration.

2. A doctorate in Educational Administration is preferred.

3. Experience in both teaching and administration.

4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools

 

SUPERVISES: Executive Director of Secondary Education; Executive Director of Elementary Education; Executive Director of Special Programs; Executive Director of Special Education; Director of Research, Evaluation, and Accountability, and staff members designated by the Board or the Superintendent.

 

JOB GOAL: To develop leadership and direct a continuous improvement cycle related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development, school improvement planning, and program effectiveness based upon actual student needs.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plans, implements, and administers programs of student performance.

2. Coordinates student performance programs and activities with system-wide programs and activities.

3. Evaluates, assesses, and reports on all student performance programs.

4. Establishes administrative procedures to guide and direct accountability efforts.

5. Assists the Superintendent with the supervision and evaluation of K-12 administration.

6. Works with principals and the finance director in the development and operation of the student performance programs.

7. Studies the ever-changing educational needs in the district and develops staff training programs that will effectively

    meet these needs.

8. Develops innovative ideas and concepts, and devises realistic plans and programs that may be

    adopted or implemented to execute those ideas.

9. Serves as primary coordinator and consultant in developing or selecting, administering, interpreting,

    and reporting the district’s evaluation programs and procedures.

10. Serves as a primary coordinator in developing, administering, and reporting statistical studies and

     analyses made in the district.

11. Develops, implements, interprets, and communicates the results of the district’s testing program to the

      entire school staff, to the Board, and to other interested parties.

12. Complies with good safety practices.

13. Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.

14. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent may assign.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:                                         The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear, and speak, and must have close, moderate, and distance vision ability.  This individual must be able to travel between district facilities.  The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

 

 

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:                       The work environment is consistent with a typical office/school environment.

                                                                                          

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:                                     Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education.  Benefits according to Board policies. 

 

 

FLSA:                                                                  Exempt

 

 

RETIREMENT:                                                       Public School Retirement System (PSRS) or Public Education Employee Retirement System (PEERS), according to qualifications.

 

 

CLEARANCES:                                                        Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

 

 

EVALUATION:                                                          Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance-Based Administrator Evaluation process.
